window glass, hair, others
In the original context hair can be a fetish (trichophilia).
Cut hair becomes a waste worth nothing, in a form prepared to such an extent that its meaning is removed. Organic remains - souvenirs of life - are abstracted from the context of existence and evanescence. During the process of artistic creation, going beyond the area of usual objectiveness, wastes take on the features of uniqueness, become a fetish. Something becomes Nothing and then again Something, but Something other than the original Thing. This process of semantization – desemantization – resemantization is comparable to the principle of 3R: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, because specific recycling of meaning occurs. Giving form and meaning to wastes change their ontological status and at last the way of interpretation. Meaningless object without name gains new meaning and is transformed into a piece of art.
